Veterans Center

Receiving continued investments from the 87^th Texas Legislature, Northeast Lakeview 大学 (NLC) will be the next site for a new Veterans Center within the Alamo 大学区 (ACD). 获得7美元.7 million for a new Veterans Center, the funds are part of the State of Texas appropriations provided to the Alamo 大学 for the 2022-2023 biennium

. Funds will be used to construct a stand-alone building dedicated to providing services to active and retired military and their families will provide a “one-stop” location offering a convenient central place for them to have direct access to academic and non-academic services

At approximately 11,000 sq. 脚, the building is currently in the design phase of site analysis, 编程, construction cost analysis, and value engineering. Building renderings will be shared when available.

Expanded Learning Opportunities

The building will increase student support and services. Some of the enhancements include:
- Increasing Veteran specific orientations, academic and nonacademic 编程
- Enhancing career planning, training, job assistance search, and transitional services
- Re-establishing a Veteran mentoring program that matches incoming Veterans with current students to support the transition process from military life to academia.
- Incorporating private meeting spaces to discuss confidential matters such as disability claims, 好处, veteran-specific advocacy and emergency services, and legal services
- Offering community space to host organizations and other events that support Veterans such as faculty support in the classroom, military culture, and learning styles.

Capital Improvement Project (CIP)

Paluxy Building - 完成

Capital Improvement Projects are funded through May 2017, Bexar县 voter-approved a capital improvement bond proposal representing $450 million in Alamo 大学区-wide capital improvements. Northeast Lakeview 大学 received some of this funding to construct its newest and tenth facility, Paluxy大厅.

现在打开， 86,390 sq. ft. facility expands learning and classroom space for science and engineering courses, provides study spaces, academic support, and a 3rd-floor multipurpose room with the ability to host large events. The facility will also provide space so that NLC can expand its career and technical programs. Future plans and use for the building include expanding 护理 Programs into the NLC service area.

Expanded Learning Opportunities

Paluxy大厅 will expand NLC’s footprint and expand learning and community engagement opportunities, including but not limited to the following:

Double capacity in Chemistry and Biology across the campus (Biology increase comes from vacated chemistry labs in the science building).
Increase the capacity of the Chevron TAMU Engineering Academy to 100 students
Be a host site for SAC’s 护理 program and work toward an independently accredited ADN 护理 program at NLC.
Increase capacity of Social Media and Digital Marketing Program
Offer Astronomy as a science option for students
Expand Physics offerings and increase capacity with dedicated lab space.
Host campus and district events in the Bluebonnet Room. Open the Bluebonnet to public use to engage the community on campus.
